Quickly Check if your Website is Mobile-Friendly

Wondering if your website is mobile friendly? Try this free tool provided by Google to quickly check if your website is mobile friendly: Google Mobile-Friendly Website Checking Tool.

A responsive website is defined as a site that detects the users’ screen size and orientation and adjusts its layout accordingly. This is a very different idea than a mobile-version site. Mobile sites are designed separately, although carrying many of the CSS or design properties of the full-sized site.

Make The Internet Work For You – Automate Tasks

Services like IFTTT and Zapier exist to help people connect different web applications together and make certain tasks online automated.  The real value in using these services is saving time.  Invest a little bit of time up front, and get massive returns in time after.

IFTTT is simple to pick up and follows a very simple “if this then that” format.  For instance, when you take a picture on your mobile phone with Instagram and upload it to your account, you can program dropbox to then snag that picture and add it to a specific folder.  Or, when you star an email in gmail, you can have it pushed automatically to your Evernote account.

The internet is filled with pop-ups, auto-playing videos, and more.  All interruptive.  All to disrupt your experience so you can be forced to watch the experience that a company paid 10k for a 30 second spot of your time.

Internet Piracy

In the wake of SOPA and PIPA and the millions of voices that shouted outcries to legislators not to shackle the one of the few profitable industries that America has left, internet piracy still remains. What is internet piracy, and why does it get so much attention?

Music Industry

According to CNN, digital music sales surpassed physical CD sales in January, 2012 [source]. According to Billboard, revenue from global recorded music industry dropped in 2012 by 3% to 16.6 billion, sourced from the Digital Music Report 2012 [source]. According to that same report the following countries showed the following as digital sale percentages of overall sales:

  • China: 71%
  • South Korea: 53%
  • United States: 52%

So what gets pirated the most? Rap music is pirated the most, with jazz holding rear guard.
